About Caroline

Caroline LaRoche is currently employed as a Junior Draper and Assistant Shop Manager with The Shakespeare Theatre of Njew Jersey, in Madison. She has been the lead draper in several productions there, and loves going to work every morning. Her latest projects include tailoring several items for Scrooge in the theatre's upcoming production of A Christmas Carol (opening December 3, 2007). At her last job, as a stitcher for New Haven, CT's, Tony Award-winning Long Wharf Theatre, she was featured in an educational video for October 2006's production of Rocket to the Moon. Some other career highlights include working for Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, CT, the Colorado Shakespeare Festival in Boulder, CO, and Helen Uffner Vintage Clothing LLC in New York City, where she assisted in the selection of costumes to be featured in the film, The Assassination of Jesse James (starring Brad Pitt). Her work has been featured in Magnet Magazine, as well as on the Chosky stage in Pittsburgh. Caroline is a recent graduate of Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, where she earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Costume Design and Technology. Her illustrious graduate school career comes on the heels of an equally stellar undergraduate education. She studied at Cedar Crest College, where as a double major in English and Technical Theatre she graduated summa cum laude in 2003. Her various costume-related skills and interests include makeup (from basic corrective to body-altering special effects), jewelry, chain maile, knitting, and other decorative crafts. Her skills also include scenic carpentry, welding, painting, and electrics. |
